The snuffbox (gilded on the inside) is hallmarked 13 Lot (= 812. 5 silver) and also bears the official Austrian hallmark, the so called Radelpunze, dated 1845. The snuffbox is further hallmarked with the master stamp CS, which stands for Christian Sander. He worked from 1819 to 1859. The master died in 1874 (age 86).
