The Guano Islands in the 1840's became prized for its fertilizer and saltpeter. In 1855 the U. S. learned of its guano deposits that lead congress to pass the Guano Islands Act so they could take advantage of the deposits. CONDITION This 136+ year old Item is rated Very Fine +++.
