This is an original 1893 etching (individually hand painted) of a Chapel in the Church of St. John the Baptist in the ancient village of Ein Kerem (now within the municipal boundaries of Jerusalem). Tradition identifies this village as the birthplace of St. John the Baptist. This Chapel represents the spot where St. Elizabeth is said to have given birth to John the Baptist.
